Recover the replacement boundary

1. Image the old system and collect binaries, installers, configuration and data.
2. Capture workflows, reports, validation and error behavior.
3. Identify printers, serial ports, network shares and direct hardware access.
4. Extract data independently and document code pages.
5. Define compatibility requirements for integrations and file exchange.

Stage cutover

Emulation can support investigation or temporary continuity, but does not itself replace maintainability or verified behavior. Qualify retained Win32 components through 32-bit compatibility testing.
