Database-level inventory
- Identify source ODS/server version and client compatibility.
- Create and verify logical backups using appropriate source tools.
- Review domains, data types, constraints, indexes and privileges.
- Inventory generators/sequences, triggers, procedures, views and UDF/external dependencies.
- Record database/default and column character sets.
Validate the restored target
Reconcile counts and totals, generator positions, blob/text encoding, procedure/trigger behavior, plans and representative transactions. Test every client family separately because database success does not establish client-library compatibility.
Use Delphi application migration, InterBase maintenance, recovery services and the pillar.
Provide source version/database, verified backup, metadata, character sets, clients and reconciliation criteria.
