Capture the complete system
- Source, binaries, database and companion files
- Runtimes, drivers, providers and service versions
- Configuration, registry, network paths and credentials process
- Installers, licenses or dongles where applicable
- OS images, known-good backups and restore procedure
- Representative workflows, reports and failure modes
A disk image is not sufficient when servers, devices, shares or license services live elsewhere.
Prove recovery
Restore copies into an isolated environment, verify database consistency and execute documented workflows. Record hashes, ownership, access controls and dependencies; keep backups separate from the running machine.
See dependency mapping, configuration recovery, migration services and the database pillar.
